Weekend a-Comin'

Always good to have the weekend just a few short hours away. Today's weather has been great, so I think I'm going to take off this afternoon and see how much yard work I can get done. Hopefully it'll be enough that I can sleep in a little tomorrow--or as much as Benjamin lets me. Still haven't heard about my mower. I guess I'll have to call him on Monday and see just what's up with that.

Weather is supposed to be nice this weekend--low 80s, which is a start for fall. Then again, it's supposed to bounce back up next week. I think on the first official day of fall, the forecast now says it'll be 97, which would be a record high. That's just not right! The high school has Homecoming next weekend, and it should be cool for Homecoming! (Why they are having it this early is beyond me, though.)

No big plans for this weekend--poker is next Saturday, so there's really nothing to do. We may let Benjamin spend some time with his grandparents and try to get the house in some sort of order, because it desperately needs it.

Cards technically clinched the NL Central last night with a nice 6-1 win over those darn Cubbies. Houston could still tie them for the title (if they won out and the Cards lost out) but the Cardinals have the tiebreaker so they'd get the crown. No celebration on the field, but there will be if they shrink the magic number to 0 with a win this afternoon at Wrigley. Won't Cub fans hate THAT!

Enjoy your weekend and maybe I'll blog a little before Monday, if you just are so darn lucky. ;)
