Another Day

Really not much going on this week. Not that routine is a bad thing, mind you, that just means the blog entries will probably be shorter.

Cards lost to Houston 3-1, but played a fairly solid game. Morris pitched well, with one of his few mistakes being a breaking ball that didn't get down to Jason Lane, who said if you don't get down, you gotta get out and hit a 2-run HR. Pujols went 0-4 and hasn't hit a HR since Sept. 8. I'm thinking that tonight's a good night to sit him, especially with the off day tomorrow. LaRussa has said he asks the players before the game if they are good and want to play after the team clinches. If you are hurting or need a break, just tell him and you've got the day off. Problem is, Pujols will never ask out of the lineup, even if he does need to get some rest.

Carpenter goes tonight. I think he needs a solid game to get back on track for the postseason and to have a chance for the Cy Young. Dontrelle Willis, probably his closest competitor, had a rough outing last time, so it's basically a dead heat between the two. I'd like to see him get the award, but more importantly, I want him pitching like he did most of the season during October.

Marriage class and Lost tonight, and looking forward to both of them. As I said yesterday, we are continuing to focus on what women want men to know women want in the class. It'll probably be much longer than next week's lesson, what men want women to know about men. Seeing the results of the survey in the book and comparing them to the survey results from the church was pretty interesting, since they were very similar.

On Lost tonight we find out about the raft--who survived, did anyone not, how are they going to get back, etc. Hopefully we also find out more about the guy down the hatch and what the heck he's doing there, but this show doesn't like to solve too many mysteries at one time. Don't know if we'll get to watch it this evening or wait until tomorrow, but I'm going to try to make it this evening.

Firefly quote of the day (from "War Stories")!

Zoe: "Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing?
Book: "Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps."

The preview from last week showed Jin pulling Michael onto a bit of flaming wood, so we got 2 survivors. But Sawyer got shot, so we'll see what happens. Sawyer is too good a character to die.

I think I am going to watch the game at the gym and watch Lost on tape, but the rain may dissuade me.

The writeup says something about Jin, Michael and Sawyer fighting for their lives and "finding a new predator in the water."

If any are going down, my money's on Jin.

Hey, I didn't say that any WERE going down, just that if any DID, it'd be Jin.

They all had it pretty rough. Odds on us seeing how Jin gets back to the island?
