Keeping You Current

Not just a lot going on, but let me catch you up on what is shaking.

Finally got some action going on the accident/car stuff yesterday. After calling the other person's insurance adjuster a couple of times, I finally get a response from her, basically saying they aren't doing anything yet, they still need to talk to their insured, then they'll come to me for a statement, but they aren't claiming liability until they do an investigation.

Half an hour later, they call me back, saying there's a reservation for a rental car set up and that their insured wanted to pass along that she hoped I was OK and that she was very sorry for everything. I'm guessing that there aren't going to be too many more problems with the whole liability thing now!

(And while there was a reservation set up, Enterprise is not a quick turnaround kinda place. I immediately went down there to get a car, and they said they wouldn't have one ready for me until 1:00 today. Speedy service there, huh?)

I believe the appraiser is supposed to show up today to look at the car and get an estimate from Barefield's (the body shop it is at) on how much it is going to be to fix it, so I should hear a little more about that today.

Benjamin took his last dose of the antibiotic today and he's really cleared up. His bottom isn't nearly as raw now that he's pretty much passed out of the diarrhea phase. So he's doing well. Sarah seems to be doing fine as well.

Meron is doing OK, for the most part. She still has some pain in her shoulder, which may be just muscle tension from the whole pleurisy thing, but it's pretty painful. She took two Vicotin yesterday on an empty stomach. That was a huge mistake as she immediately started vomiting and was extremely nauseous. I had to take Benjamin to TLC, but once she got some food in her she was OK. She'd probably do well to have a muscle relaxer, but she can't take that while she's breastfeeding. It will hopefully clear up soon, so she won't be hurting on our trip.

She had a Tastefully Simple party last night, the first one she's done since Sarah was born. It went well and she probably met her quarterly quota, plus she booked a party off of that one. Of course, that meant I was home with the kids while she did that. Benjamin was great, but Sarah and I still have some issues. I swear she cries and fusses much more for me than anyone else. So for the 4 hours I had them both, I think she cried for about 3 of them. Needless to say, by time Meron got home, I was working on a lovely headache! I think Meron and Kerri (Micah's mommy and our preacher's wife) are going to see The Order of the Phoenix this weekend, so hopefully I can get it right this time dealing with the little princess!

Speaking of Harry Potter, we still haven't finished Deathly Hallows, but we are getting there--I think we both are close to 100 pages from the end. Starting to really ramp up!

Signed up for fall league softball yesterday. Bobby, who was basically our coach (he was nice enough to call me "co-coach", but he did everything) for church league softball and who you might remember from a blog entry from last year has gotten together a team to play in the city league. I don't figure I'll get much playing time--we've got some quality players, I think--but it should be fun and it'll get me out of the house. The games start August 15, so you'll start getting some updates then!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
