Kinda hard to believe that Sarah has been with us for two weeks now. She had her two-week checkup this morning, and everything was great. She's gotten back to her birth weight--babies tend to lose some after birth, and she had dropped to 7 lbs 15 ozs--and then some, weighing now 8 lbs 10 ozs. Apparently the hospital measured her wrong, however, because she is just 20 1/2" according to the doctor's office. The doctor thought she was doing great and we'll go back in 6 weeks for her first round of shots.
We've got a couple of nice pictures of Benjamin and Sarah and soon I'll try to get them uploaded and share them with you.
Sarah even made it to church Sunday. We were only about 15 minutes late leaving home. :) That's one thing we never had to worry with on Benjamin--he never ran us late. But with two of them, the first time was a little rough. Still, we weren't very late to Sunday School and everyone was so glad that we made it. She got plenty of attention in there and in church! She does lag behind her brother in that, though. It took her 10 days to get to church. Benjamin was in a church meeting in 6!
Softball team pulled out another win with a solid, all-around good game on Monday night. We caught more fly balls in that game than I think we have all year combined. We got solid hits, kept the other team from hitting the inside-the-park HR that have plagued us, turned two double plays and threw a guy out at the plate. Everybody on the team either got a hit, scored a run, or made a play. We won 11-7. I went 1 for 3 with a run scored, taking my average to .417 (5 for 12). I was robbed by the second baseman on one hit, but since I'd gotten two hits this year on similar balls that should have been caught, I guess it was the law of averages. Another game on Friday, so we'll see if we can do it again.
Cardinals are showing a little life, moving into second place 6 games behind Milwaukee, who is losing right now to the Cubs. Hopefully the Cards can take care of the Reds tonight and move a little closer to the top spot. If they can stay in contention until Carpenter comes back, they could surprise some people again.
Benjamin started his summer TLC program Tuesday with no problems. It'll be good for Meron to have him out of the house some, plus he gets to play with a lot of his friends there. That'll go until my birthday (Aug. 2), then the fall version starts up end of August/beginning of September. Sarah will probably go when she is old enough, but that will be January or so.
Oh, and talk about a blessing--we sold Meron's old car! A guy called me up out of the blue and offered me $500 in cash for it. I said, "Come on down!" It was great to be able to get the money for that, plus get it off our insurance. Just one more thing out of the way. And that money will probably pay for our Ohio trip, which will probably be August 4-12 this year, it looks like.
Will post more pictures soon!
