Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged. I was going to try to wait until I could get some pictures up, but apparently that's not happening. We have some more on the camera that I need to upload to the computer and then put on the blog, but I've not had much chance to do that. Maybe this weekend I can get a few more up.
Softball: We had to forfeit our game last Friday because we just couldn't get enough people to show up. It was a late makeup game, so it wasn't too surprising. We played last night, and while we didn't have necessarily our strongest team on the field, we were competitive, losing 9-5. I went 1 for 2 with an RBI (average now .438--7/16). I caught most of the game, which is fairly typical, but the during the last out of the bottom of the next-to-last inning, our first baseman came up lame, so he and I switched places. It was the first time I've ever played first base, and of course the first chance I get I flubbed. The shortstop threw it across the diamond, but it had a little tail on it and glanced off my glove. I was able to field my second chance, which was a toss from the pitcher. We play twice next week to wrap up the season, unless we decide to pay the money and play in the tournament.
Benjamin and Sarah are doing fine. Sarah is getting pretty fussy, spending time going off on major crying jags. Thankfully, those aren't in the middle of the night (like her brother used to do). She's got a little bit of a cold, but it's not bad. We're going to take her to the weekly baby weigh-in at the hospital today to see how much weight she's gained. Hard to believe she'll be a month old tomorrow!
We are starting to work on the potty-training with Benjamin, but no real success so far. We've got to get him to tell us when he needs to go. Right now we just put him on the commode every once in a while and let him sit there for a bit. It's worked a couple of times, but I'm sure it's just a long road to hoe.
Tonight, my grandmother is coming in from the other side of the state to see the kids. Benjamin then is going to spend the night at my parents' and go with them to take my grandmother back tomorrow. Hopefully this means we can get a little more rest and maybe a couple of things done around the house. We'll see, I guess!
Cards are playing a bit better, though it still been a fairly rough year. The pitching staff really needs a boost, but there's not much out there to trade for and the Cards don't have a lot of movable chips, either. They still sit in second, though, ahead of those Cubs who spent all this money trying to be as good as the Cardinals. Yeah, good luck with that!
It's been five years since the tough losses of Jack Buck and Darryl Kile. Of course, Buck wasn't a surprise, being in bad health and everything, but it was still a hard thing for the club to deal with when he passed on June 18, 2002. But when DK was found dead in a hotel room on June 22, 2002, that was a blow that it took a long time for the squad to rebound from. It was even more shocking than the death of Josh Hancock this year. DK was a leader who'd been on the team a while. Number 57 is still displayed, even at the new Busch. I don't know if 32 for Hancock will have the same type of respect shown.
It's also been five years since CardsClubhouse.com opened, or will be in August. The moderating team is working on a few things to make that anniversary a special one!
Have a great weekend!

Hey C,
Boys are the worst to potty train. My son took forever. Persistance is the key. Rewards (M&M's) helped, but he didn't get really good until he wanted to do it.. My daughter, has been about as difficult as getting a cat to use a litter box.. 1 week and we were down to 1 or no accidents per day.. So there is a ray of sunshine for when Sarah is ready
God Bless,
