For the most part, everything is going well. She's sleeping a lot and even when she's up in the night, she's not doing too much high-pitched baby crying. It's usually fuss until she eats, then either back to sleep or stays pretty calm looking around. I know I've gotten more sleep than I planned this first week. Part of that is that there's not much I can do when she gets up but get a few things for Meron. Part of it is that I wind up in Benjamin's bed when he starts calling for me in the middle of the night, and I go back and forth between the two rooms. Still, it's been much better than I thought.
We came home on Saturday afternoon. Even if it wasn't required, though, we would have had to go back Sunday to get her jaundice levels tested. They were still a little high on Sunday and they dropped a little new knowledge on us then. This is what I said last week:
"had her hearing test (which I'm assuming she passed, since they didn't tell us any different)"Turns out, assumptions are dangerous things. She had actually failed one ear, which they didn't bother to tell us until we showed up on Sunday and they were going to test her again. They didn't have the equipment to do it Sunday, though, so I took her back Monday for both tests, and she passed both of them. So she's free and clear now, at least on those two fronts.
The breastfeeding seems to be going better with Sarah than it did with Benjamin, but we are supplementing with bottles as well. She had dropped to 8 pounds even by Monday, but weight loss is pretty normal with babies right out of the gate. She has an appointment with the pediatrician on Wednesday for a check up and, if I remember correctly, her first round of shots.
Meron's mommy group has started bringing us meals, which has been great. We've not had as many visitors as we thought we would, so if you are in the area and want to see her, let us know or come on over.
And now, the photo gallery:

I'll try to post more as the weeks go along. Hope you enjoy!
