You know, before we saw all the doctors, I told Meron, "Maybe they'll just say I need a couple of weeks in bed to recover."
I'm finding that's not all that it's cracked up to be. Since I have fallen a couple of times even with the walker, I've been hesitant to leave the bed, and with a couple of aids now, I don't have to except for showering, which I'm going to do here in a bit with hopefully no drawbacks. The legs are weakening, though, so I'm not sure how well this is going to work.
So I'm finding out that there are only so many times you can watch The Cosby Show or King of the Hill in a day. Having the computer out is great, but it can be very uncomfortable and the typing seems to aggrevate the tingling in my finger tips. And there aren't that many things to read.
And this is going to go on for a while. Apparently, the medicine I need is in short supply across the nation. They hope they can start it Tuesday, but they aren't sure. They'll leave the IV in me from start to finish, just changing the bags of stuff every day. They say it could go from 3-6 hours a day, though it's likely going to be in the 3 hour range.
Thankfully, my friends are coming to get me and taking me (via wheelchair) to play poker tonight. I need the night out, I think, since I've hardly left the bedroom since coming back from the New Year's party. Hopefully I can come back with some money, but I don't think their kindness will stretch that far!
I appreciate all those praying for me and all of those reading this that have helped me through this by getting things, preparing food, etc. One of the "joys in every situation" here is getting a refresher on how many great friends I have.
