The Name Game

Just a quick post to let you know of our important decision. If you've been over to Meron's blog, you've already seen the news. If not, let me fill you in.

The daughter on the way will be known as Sarah Elizabeth Shoptaw. According to ThinkBabyNames.com, Sarah means "princess", while Elizabeth means "God's promise". Both names, like Benjamin Daniel, were Biblical, which was something we wanted but didn't expect to get when we found out it was going to be a girl. There are lots of boy names in the Bible, but not so many girl names that aren't either very exotic or Mary. Couple that with the fact that Elizabeth is Meron's middle name and her mom actually wanted to name her Sarah and it seems to be a good fit.

Plus we knew there was no way we'd actually wind up agreeing on something else.

Have to give credit to Meron's mommy group for this one, really. They suggested it, Meron passed it on to me and it struck a chord. We thought about it for a while (Meron more than I did, since she was afraid Sarah might be a little too common of a name of her taste) and it continued to seem like the right choice.

Of course, we do reserve the right to change our mind before she gets here, but I can't imagine that's going to happen.

That's all for know, but thought you might want to know!
