Preparing for the Weekend

Well, last night's softball game was rained out. Somehow, standing out in a thunderstorm with an aluminum bat didn't seem like the best of ideas.

This weekend is going to be a busy one. Thursday night is our next softball game (8:00, Pleasant View #4 if you are in the area and need a laught) The rain should clear out today, so hopefully it won't be too muddy. Though I'm thinking a wet outfield might slow down some balls and cut down on the inside the parkers that we keep giving up.

Friday is our church's annual chicken BBQ. Last year, due to the fact that my hospital stay had taken all of my vacation days, I wasn't able to spend all day cooking the chickens like I had the past 5-6 years. I'll be back out there Friday morning, though, getting the fires ready, turning the birds, and spreading on the sauce. Then I'll set up and take tickets like I've done for, well, at least 15 years. I always look forward to BBQ day--it's work, but it's usually a lot of fun.

Saturday, Meron is having a Tastefully Simple open house. She has to hit $400 in sales every quarter, and with the baby coming (less than a month now!), this seemed like the easiest way to do it this quarter. She's going to be looking for parties come July and August, so keep that in mind if you are in the area. If you aren't, but want to help, you can order through her web site--and you won't be disappointed in the food! I've never heard anything but good things from those that have ordered. That also means that, starting tonight, I've got to do some cleaning around the house to make it presentable!

I'm guessing that Sunday will be another softball practice, especially with a rainout this week. When you may only get a chance to hit the ball once in a week, having practice seems to be a good idea. Benjamin really likes going to the baseball games and practices. It's probably a good thing last night's was rained out, because leaving without him would have probably set him into a fit!

So, all in all, a busy weekend a-comin'. But it should be a lot of fun!
